Seasonal Notes From The Ranch - Fall 2026
Greetings!
Absolutely gorgeous fall days here at the ranch. It is truly my favorite time in Southern California We have had some rain so it is like a green paint can was dumped on the hills. The light and temps are absolutely perfect!

The Bees are here! For intermittent month long stays some commercial bee hives come and rest at our property. It is so interesting and fun to go and see/ hear them buzzing about. And we love them in our plants and groves.

Our pomegranate season to the public is over. We had some beauties! Till next year for sales! However, each year we donate our unsellable blemished (but still good ) fruit to Free Flight Exotic Bird Sanctuary in Del Mar, CA. This is in tune with our wish to contribute to our community and to reduce/ reuse waste on the ranch. Stay tuned for ways you can help support the amazing work Free Flight does.
Our Valencia oranges are outrageously good right now. Juices, sliced, dressings, cocktails. They are wonderfully wild with the kind of flavor you get from food grown where it is supposed to grown We do bulk orders, gift bags & baskets and would love to share these beauties with you.
Fuertes are coming soon! These are a highlight of the year for us. Fuertes are smooth skin and are green when ripe. Fuertes are not commonly found in the grocery store as the delicate skin makes them harder to store/ ship and have a harder time than the Hass enduring the long travel times most store bought commercial avocados endure. Ours are estate grown and are picked to order. Already planning the guac, poke, toast and slices with a touch of salt and lemon.

Wishing you all the best this fall and always!
Melissa
